As we have discovered the band "Raided By Waves" and will be using them for our music video at MTV studios, which they confirmed they would be interested for sure to take part of it we will be working around them overall meaning we shall do the music video centring through the genre of Alternative Rock.
Alternative rock is a genre of rock music that emerged from the mid 1980s, it is commonly associated with a loud, distorted guitar sound type music which became widely popular by the 1990s making it a perfect genre to use anyway because of this.
We will therefore over the course of the time be researching in general over the genre on our group blogs in order to help us create the music video. This will include looking through similar related music videos for inspiration, evidence and reference for the reasons in making our own music video as well as going into the band/artist images that are a part of the alternative rock genre to see how they are portrayed between the media and audience world. There will also be other factors to consider to overview after the music video as we will be developing a digi-pack basically containing the album artwork, content, CDs and many more.
We have already come up with other alternative rock bands for us to use for this research and planning approach to our music video. We have taken into account Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nickelback, Linkin Park and Nirvanna for this as our main coverage.
